Bison Process Guide

Tube Laser Cutting

Tube laser indexing stock and cutting a slot

Process Overview

Tube laser cutting prepares end profiles, holes and connection features for tubular frames and assemblies. Bison reviews the tube section, feature orientation and mating geometry so the cut parts support fit-up, welding and the next operation.

Capabilities

The processing range depends on tube section, outside dimensions, wall thickness, material and tool access. End profiles, holes, slots and locating features are reviewed against the part geometry. Weld-bevel requirements need separate confirmation.

Design Considerations

Specify the section dimensions, wall thickness, material grade and cut length. Locate features from defined end and angular datums, and identify seam orientation where it matters.

Actual tube dimensions, corner radii and straightness affect fit. Show mating parts, near-end features and any weld preparation, and state whether internal spatter is acceptable.

Quality

Inspection focuses on cut length, hole orientation, end-profile fit and edge condition. Cut-slug removal and internal residue should meet the assembly requirements. Identify critical dimensions and acceptance criteria with your drawing.
