Stainless Steel
Fabrication.
Grades, Surface Condition And Stock Sizes To Consider Before Specifying A Stainless Steel Part.
Material Options
Common sheet choices include 304/304L and 316/316L. Duplex, ferritic, martensitic and precipitation-hardening grades have different forming and welding requirements. Specify the exact grade, condition and surface finish.
Common Sheet Sizes
Bison’s maximum sheet size is 60 × 120 in (5 × 10 ft). Common supplier formats include:
- 304 / 316 sheet: 48 × 96, 48 × 120 and 60 × 120 in
Supplier availability depends on grade, condition and thickness.
Thickness & Process Fit
Send the required thickness with your drawing. We confirm the working range for each cutting, forming or joining step; sheet size alone does not establish processing capacity.
State corrosion exposure, visible faces and grain direction. Nitrogen generally gives a brighter cut edge; air can leave oxidation that needs attention before welding or finishing.
