Bison Material Guide

Alloy And Temper Work Together. Review Product Form, Forming Requirements And The Finished Part’s Service Conditions.

Material Options

Common choices include 3003-H14, 5052-H32 and 6061-T6. Alloy and temper affect strength, bendability and joining. Specify the complete designation and product form; one alloy or temper is not an automatic substitute for another.

Common Sheet Sizes

Bison’s maximum sheet size is 60 × 120 in (5 × 10 ft). Common supplier formats include:

  • 3003-H14 / 5052-H32 sheet: 48 × 96, 48 × 120 and 60 × 120 in
  • 6061-T6 sheet: 36 × 96, 48 × 96 and 48 × 120 in

Supplier availability depends on grade, condition and thickness.

Thickness & Process Fit

Send the required thickness with your drawing. We confirm the working range for each cutting, forming or joining step; sheet size alone does not establish processing capacity.

Review bend radii, cosmetic faces and the finished part’s service conditions. Welding can reduce strength near the joint. Air or nitrogen cutting may still require deburring and edge preparation.
